and i stay up late
and sleep-in even later

when did i become such a post-modern hater?

hasty faces fleeting on an endless screen
that flickers frequently in the darkness of the night
and time passes on with each click of the mouse
which rings across the silence of an empty house

but i won’t leave it this way
you know it really ain’t that bad
i still got my smile and a notebook full of songs
and we’ll keep moving on playing all these silly games

like the wink of an eye
or the kiss on a cheek
the way you move your hips
makes my knees go weak
